How would you like to see $3000 spent to improve the GC student community?

Come to the Participatory Budgeting Town Hall this Thursday, process this Thursday, December 14 from 2:00-3:00 PM in room 5414 to learn more. The Town Hall will provide an opportunity come and ask representatives who have submitted eligible proposals about their projects.

You and the entire student body will be able to rank projects based on which ones you would like to see funded. Winning projects will receive funding to be implemented starting in the spring 2018 semester.

The Town Hall will also be an opportunity to learn more about the Participatory Budgeting process and how to prepare eligible projects for future submission periods.

 

Here is some additional information about Participatory Budget:

Voting
All students registered during the fall 2017 semester will be eligible to vote. Before the voting period ends, there will be a Town Hall meeting where eligible applicants will interface with students to explain and answer questions about their project proposals. Voting is expected to open December 15 so please stay tuned!
Timeline
  • October 20: Participatory Budgeting applications are announced.
  • November 17: Participatory Budgeting applications reminder during DSC plenary.
  • November 30: Deadline for Participatory Budgeting applications at 11:59 PM
  • December 1-December 8: Ad-hoc Committee will review final submissions for eligibility.
  • December 15-20: Voting opens
  • December 14: Town Hall meeting where eligible applicants present their projects (2-3PM, Room 5414)
  • December 31: Voting closes at 11:59 PM
  • January 2: Winner(s) announced
  • January 2-May 15: Project planning and implementation
