The DGSC has adopted a resolution, which was endorsed by the PSC-Graduate Center’s Executive Committee, requesting that CUNY build a centralized payment system for CUNY Graduate Center doctoral and master’s students in order to ensure timely payment and consistent teaching workload across the senior colleges.

The current non-centralized payment system frequently results in late paychecks, missing paychecks, or underpayment, leading to financial stress and instability among students. GC doctoral students are also assigned different workloads at the senior colleges (some students are assigned one class, while others may be assigned multiple classes). A centralized payment system would ensure timely payment of doctoral and master’s students’ bi-weekly paychecks and further guarantee consistent teaching workload across the senior colleges.

This resolution was sent to: CUNY Chancellor (Félix V. Matos Rodríguez), CUNY University Provost (Daniel E. Lemons), Incoming CUNY University Provost (Wendy F. Hensel), Graduate Center President (Robin L. Garrell), Graduate Center Provost (Steve Everett).

Please feel free to be in touch with us at the DGSC (dgsc@cunydgsc.org) if you have anything you’d like to share in response to this resolution or the issue at hand.
