Wellness & Support
- NYSHIP has announced that they will be providing a telehealth option to enrollees. LiveHealth Online lets enrollees stay home and have a video visit with a board-certified doctor or licensed therapist on their smartphone, tablet or personal computer. Learn more here. - The Graduate Center’s Coronavirus Guidance and Updates page is frequently updated with important notices and resources related to academic and financial support, as well as information on safety and wellness.
- CUNY Central’s COVID-19 information page also has a number of support resources on various topics, including wellness, technological needs, and academic continuity.
- The GC’s Teaching and Learning Center has set up a Slack Workspace, CUNY Continuity, to support distance teaching. Join the workspace here to connect.
- The Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) offers free Training for Online Instruction in a series of webinars. Click here for dates, topics, and info on participating.
- The Wellness Center is hosting a free virtual workshop on Zoom: Self-Care for Graduate Students, on Friday, April 3, 2020, from 10:30 AM to 12 PM. In this workshop, participants will learn and share techniques for self-care, including strategies for alleviating stress and creating a work-life environment that is balanced and sustainable especially during these difficult times. Funding
- The Petrie Fund, to which the DSC allocates a portion of its budget each year, provides quick-response grants of up to $2,000 to assist GC students who are currently facing current short-term financial emergencies. - The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs page on the GC website has resources for research funding. The office will also be offering a series of weekly online grant-writing workshops, beginning on April 17th. These are designed to outline the grant proposal submission process and help students prepare competitive proposals for pre-dissertation funding. Click here for more info and links to register.
- The RFCUNY Office of Award Pre-Proposal Support (APPS) has developed two advisories for CUNY Faculty on COVID-19 funding and relief opportunities. There’s a guide for biomedical, health science, and social science faculty, and one for arts and culture faculty. GC students who are also teaching at a CUNY campus may take advantage of these opprtunities.
