Please be advised:
The initial Fall 2014 and Spring 2015 disbursement dates for federal direct student loans are October 1, 2014 and March 5, 2015 respectively. The change to disbursement dates had to be made due to administrative issues that directly affect federal aid eligibility at the beginning of each semester.
Students may come to the Financial Aid Office on the first day of class of each semester to request an advance against their loan(s). All students must be registered on at least a half-time basis in order to be eligible for an advance. When warranted, Fall 2014 tuition/fees, Spring 2015 tuition/fees and advances will be deducted from loan proceeds on 10/1/14 and 3/4/15 respectively.
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to send an e-mail to Shelley R. Worrell, the CUNY Graduate Center Federal Direct Loan Coordinator at sworrell@gc.cuny.edu. GC students please remember to include your Banner number on all correspondence.
While it says here to contact shelly for concerns, she just passes you back to financial aid after pointing out that this delay was announced last summer. Thanks for nothing.
